Day 1 Marangu Gate (1980 m) – Mandara Hut (2700 m)

At around 7.00 am you will leave with packed Lunch from your hotel in Moshi to Marangu Gate which is almost 50 km. After arrival you will finish all your registration formalities, and make the final reparations for your Hike from the Gate. You ascend a cleared ridge trail to Mandara Hut passing through rain forest where you can see velvet monkeys, birds like the Turraco, trees like Macaranga Kilimandscharica, flowers like yellow impatiens kilimajari, violet impatiens pseudoviola and the sweet-scented white Begonia meyeri-johannis. Lunch will be taken at Mandara Hut. AfterLunch you you can explore the surrounding area for a while and enjoy the unique nature on Kilimanjaro. Then you will start to go down the gate, here we will check out and drive back to Moshi town.

Day mountain bike safari

A day Mountain bike Safari to West Kilimanjaro region and North of Mount Kilimanjaro.

This is a one day trip to a region on the slopes of West Kilimanjaro, where you get the possibility to bike through the natural habitat of several wild animals and to see the beauty of Tanzanian nature.

Details:Our starting time is between 8 and 9 in the morning; we will pick you up and start our transfer of 1 ½ hours with the Jeep to West Kilimanjaro.

The nature of the biking trail is all flat but a bit bumpy.and the main part you will go on great bike trails.

The 4×4 Jeep will be behind you (as a backup vehicle) while you are biking with the guide. In the jeep there will be a ranger and the driver, they carry a first aid box and your personal equipment.

There is the possibility to see many species so as lesser kudu, Grants gazelle, warthogs, impala, wildebeest, and giraffe etc. which are permanent residents while others like eland, zebra, buffalo, and elephants are passing there. You might be able to see seasonal elephant routes.

Marangu waterfalls and culture

Marangu waterfalls and culture

A day trip to Marangu waterfalls and the heart of Chagga culture.
You will start from Moshi and drive to Marangu for an hour and a half. Here you will visit the Chagga caves. They have been used during the war between the Chagga and Maasai people. Your local guide will tell you more stories about Chagga people, the tribe that lives around Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Next you will get to visit the Chagga museum, where you will get to know more about their history andculture tour

culture, you can see their traditional houses, type of weapons they were used during the war, and their agricultural achievements.
As our last activity of the day you will drive for approx. 15 minutes to a waterfall, which we can only reach by walking a small trail for about 20 minutes. Here you can enjoy the lush green of Kilimanjaro, take amazing pictures and relax for a while.

On our way back we will stop by at Marangu hotel for lunch, after which we will drive back to Moshi.

Lake Chala trip by car or Mountain bike trip 15 km of Mountain bike downhills to lake Chala go and return of 13 km of another downhill though the different direction with the option of the overnight stay and camping or at the modern luxury bring tent as the accommodation.

All the ways down hill mountain bike ride, swim, Canoeing and pedal boat can be done at the Lake Chala, which is located between the border of Kenya and Tanzania at the East side of Kilimanjaro region. We will took an hour and half for the transfer thought the high way heading o the starting point of where our down hill bike ride will start heading to the Lake Chala for the cycling for 15 km downhill on rough roads with some dust during the dry season.

Formation of the is from the from volcanic eruption at previous years, so it is now a caldera with water inside, which is more than 300 m deep and 3 km wide.

Down way heading to the lake Chala you will have a fantastic view Kenya Savannah of the Tsavo East National park in Kenya where is the source of the Elephant Migration to the Lake Chala during the dray season searching for water the vies of the Pare Mountains, Lake Jipe, and the dead volcanic lava from the eruption of Mount Chala while walking heading to the Lake.

After having arrived at the lake campsite you will descend to the lake itself for a swim. You can do some walking around the rim of the lake and by chance see some elephants, if they haven’t migrated to other places, we will heading to the Lake for the short swimming and Possible to do Canoeing with the local boats or also pedal boat can be done.

You will finish with the other 13 km of the Down hill heading to the fish point at the Holili town just at the border of the Kenya and Tanzania and then get a transport back to Moshi.

Overnight stay at the campsite or at the modern and luxury tented lodge surrounding the crater rim of the part of the lake chala with the beautifully restaurant facing the lake on to of the caldera lake rim, which will give you the possibility of doing more swimming and walking the next day. You will go back to Moshi after lunch.

The company 4×4 will accompany you as a backup vehicle during the bike ride.

Moshi reality tour

Moshi reality tour or Rau forest bike tour

A full day mix activity tour of different thing to see by mountain bike or walking  to the Rau monkey forest, Moshi reality tour to see how local live, culture and history of the town.

You will be picked up for a bike size fitting and to meet the guide. You will bike through Moshi to the entry gate of Rau forest. You will bike through the forest, where we can see different types of monkeys such as black and white Colobus monkeys, Blue monkeys and Black monkeys and some of the great butterflies and birds as well as different types of trees. We will bike to a giant tree called Mvule tree.

You will have a small picnic beside the river, from where you get a nice view over the rice plantations and on Kilimanjaro, here you will have some fresh fruits and you will in town to the selected restaurant for the hot fresh food in a chosen local restaurant.

After food you will continue with the Moshi reality tour where you will you will heading different live artistic works such as curving and painting all live, get to visit the coffee and different local markets in Moshi and our Moshi reality tour will end at the Moshi old railway station here you will finish Moshi reality tour by having a local bear or soft beverage till sunset and we will transfer you back to the accommodation.

Hot springs in Moshi

Hot springs in Moshi, or Kikuletwa Hot springs day trip with mountain bike or car.

Starting points of Transfer can be any hotel from Arusha or Moshi. Drive from Moshi town to the starting point will be 40 min and from Arusha will be 1 hour. Followed with a 17 km one way all flat passing the Massai village trails took 1 hrs 30 min to 2 hours, passing through the territory of the Masai. The Masai people are Tanzania’s tribal people who are still living in authentic fashion.

Via the  Masai village trails that will brings you to a natural Oasis Springs which was formed by underground small river connection to this clear Oasis small lake in the middle of Masai land called the Hot Springs or Kikuletwa, you will have lunch and can relax and swim. You can also do some walking along the river.

After all of the activity you will start to Bike back heading back to the transfer point here you will get transfer back to Moshi or Arusha (Option if you are fit you can bike 29 km all the way to Moshi took 2.30 min to 3 hours)

Materuni Waterfalls

A day trip to Materuni Waterfalls

You will drive to the slopes of Kilimanjaro, up to Materuni village. From there you will hike for about 30 minutes and pass by the local coffee farmers where you will get a chance to hear how local farmers grow coffee and process it till it’s sold. Also you will get time to prepare your own coffee and drink and take some home with you. This will take about an hour.

After this you will walk for 45 minutes to the waterfall, passing villages of the Chagga, which is a native tribe that lives on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Near the waterfall you will have lunch and a possibility to rest and enjoy the nature around.

What to see: A variety of exotic plants and trees, coffee and banana trees, different fruits and animals, especially many different birds.

Bring sun cream, sun glasses and proper shoes.
