Day 1: Moshi –  Ngorongoro Crater (Safari)

After the breakfast we will drive heading to the Ngorongoro Crater passing by Arusha City and Lake Manyara town and the Great Rift Valley escapement, half day game drive in the crater. What to see: the Ngorongoro Crater is almost 600m deep and in this massive caldera you will find an amazing variety of animals, alongside the “big five” (elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and rhinoceros). You can find as well wildebeest, hippopotamus, baboon, hyenas, and many types of birds. Then drive back from the crater heading to the accommodation on the crater rim. Here it will be a cold night. Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater to the – Olmoti Crater – Nainokanoka

Drive from the accommodation heading to the Masai Land into the Masai village of Nainokanoka. While the Private camp is being set up, today you will you will hike to the rim of the Olmoti Crater during the afternoon.You will see a small waterfall along the way and the Masai traditional boma houses. Dinner will be served at the private camp.

Day 3: Nainokanoka – Bulati

A hike of 17 km will start with a supporting local Masai team, who will join us in the campsite with the donkeys. After breakfast and loading the donkeys, the journey will start. You will pass many traditional Masai bomas and cattle herds in beautiful landscapes with wild animals around such as Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles, zebras and wildebeests with hungry jackals and some of the different scaventures birds. Our accommodation will be at the private campsite at Bulati Village, where our diner and breakfast will take place.

Day 4: Bulati – Empakai

A full day hiking with some stops will start after breakfast, the hiking will head up to the hill from where you have the best panoramic view of the Masai grass plains below and continues up and down through the bushy landscape of the active volcano, Oldonyo Lengai. You will have a great view of different volcanos and the beautiful view of the Empakai Crater before reaching the private campsite. You will trek down to the crater. What to see: Empakai Lake inside the crater. This alkaline soda lake is an important food source for flamingos, which can be seen throughout the year.

Day 5: Empakai Crater – Acacia Camp

After breakfast your hike will continue, heading to the Naiyobi Masai village, followed by the good view of Oldonyo Lengai. This Masai God Mountain, an active volcano, can be seen from a distance while you are hiking. Lunch will take place at Naiyobi Masai village, you will leave the Ngorongoro Conservation area and get to the dry and warmer weather. Your accommodation  will be in the acacia forest.

Accacia CampsiteDay 6: Acacia Camp – Engare Sero at the New World Campsite

Today will be a short day, where you will hike downhill heading to the camp where you will say goodbye to the local Masai team and the donkeys, while you are the camp you will have hot lunch and diner.  Lake Natron and the Rift Valley: the rugged countryside looks almost surreal covered by grey ash of the last eruption in 2007. The trek descends down into the dry and hot Rift Valley, where the ash can be seen up close.

On top of the Oldonyo lengai 3Day 7: Activity at lake Natron. A local Masai Guide will join us for the full day activity to Lake Natron. At Natron you will have a trekking to the waterfalls and then we will get the chance to visit Lake Natron, where it is highly possible to see many flamingos. In the night you will climb Mount Oldonyo Lengai. Today you will have an early dinner so you can start trekking to the top of Oldonyo Lengai in the night. You will have an addition guide from the village. In the midnight you will start by driving heading to the starting point for the hiking. Your hike heading to the top will be six hours and heading down will be three hours. We will transfer you to the camp where you will rest for the accommodation and dinner.

Day 8: Safari Engaruka – Serengeti. At 8.30 we will take off to the Serengeti. Driving will be around four hours to the Klensi gate. The Serengeti hosts the largest terrestrial mammal migration in the world and is also renowned for its large lion population and is one of the best places to observe prides in their natural environment. Approximately 70 larger mammals and some 500 avifauna species are found there. This high diversity in terms of species is a function of diverse habitats ranging from river forests, swamps, kopjes, grasslands and woodlands. Wildebeests, gazelles, zebras and buffalo are some of the commonly found large mammals in the region. Destination: Serengeti, accommodation at Lobo.

TzDay 9: We will start from accommodation at 8.00 am after breakfast for a full day game drive in Serengeti. We will be searching for the animal migration and possibly heading to the Masai Mara River if the animals are there. In the evening we will set back to the accommodation in Lobo.

Day 10: We will start early from the accommodation for a sunrise game drive, then heading back to the breakfast, then set off to the Central Serengeti and heading to the accommodation to check in and have hot lunch. Then we will continue after a short siesta for an evening sunset safari.

Day 11: Today will be a half day in the Serengeti, with the option of doing the hot air balloon. Then you will fly out heading to Zanzibar for five nights.

Day 12 till 13: Zanzibar to relax and you can decide what extra you will like to do.

Day 14: You will fly back home.

Day 1 Marangu Gate (1980 m) – Mandara Hut (2700 m)

At around 7.00 am you will leave with packed Lunch from your hotel in Moshi to Marangu Gate which is almost 50 km. After arrival you will finish all your registration formalities, and make the final reparations for your Hike from the Gate. You ascend a cleared ridge trail to Mandara Hut passing through rain forest where you can see velvet monkeys, birds like the Turraco, trees like Macaranga Kilimandscharica, flowers like yellow impatiens kilimajari, violet impatiens pseudoviola and the sweet-scented white Begonia meyeri-johannis. Lunch will be taken at Mandara Hut. AfterLunch you you can explore the surrounding area for a while and enjoy the unique nature on Kilimanjaro. Then you will start to go down the gate, here we will check out and drive back to Moshi town.

BIKE SAFARI IN WEST AND NORTH OF KILIMANJARO DAY + BIKE.

Our starting time is between 8 and 9 in the morning; we will pick you up and start our transfer of 1 ½ hours with the jeep to West Kilimanjaro.

The nature of the road where you will bike on is all flat and the main part you will go on great bike trails.

The 4×4 Jeep will be behind you (as a backup vehicle) while you are biking with the guide. In the jeep there will be a ranger and the driver, they carry a first aid box and your personal equipment. There is the possibility to see many species so as lesser kudu, Grants gazelle, warthogs, impala, wildebeest, and giraffe as well as bird species etc. which are permanent residents while others like eland, zebra, buffalo, and elephants are passing there. You might be able to see seasonal elephant routes.

Total km is from 15 to 35km.

From the west of Kilimanjaro to the starting point of Mountain bike safari,and the end to Massai land in Boma.

Transfer from accommodation to 1600 mm Lemosho route via Moram for one hour and a half at the starting point of the trekking route 3400 mm for few hours hike like 2 to 3 hours; get to see Kilimanjaro from a great view the Shira Caldera, a high altitude desert plateau which is rarely visited. Shira is the third pick of Kilimanjaro’s volcanic cones, and is filled with lava flow from Kibo Peak.

Then you will drive to get to the accommodation in the West North of Kilimanjaro. and downhill for 15 km then bike on the mix of fat and down for 20 km after transfer of 30 km the Mount Kilimanjaro National park all the way down on the flats land heading to the Olpopongi these is real modern mixed with the western accommodation and Massai accommodation in a good style in west Kilimanjaro..

Boma then hot springs then to Moshi or Arusha.

After early morning breakfast then we will set off to the hot springs via Boma biking will be 30 km including transfer at the high way. When you are at the hot springs we will have a hot mid Lunch and enjoy a swim with a local beer or drink in the evening set off with the sun set drive heading to the all the way to Moshi or Arusha in the chosen accommodation.

Day 1 – Miriakamba
In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to Arusha National Park. At the Momella gate we finish registration formalities before setting off with your guide and armed ranger. There is abundant wildlife in the forests! The forest section is especially scenic with strangler figs and the possibility of seeing buffalo grazing in one of the clearings. In the late afternoon we reach a viewpoint before heading onto Miriakamba hut for dinner. Overnight Miriakamba hut.

Day 2 – Saddle Hut
We set off from Miriakamba initially still in the forest zone but in a few hours as we reach Saddle hut for lunch in the alpine desert zone. In the afternoon a walk to the summit of Little Meru can be taken for stunning views before heading back to Saddle Hut for dinner. Overnight Saddle Hut.

Day 3 – Miriakamba
We rise early and our hard work is rewarded at dawn as the sun rises to the East. Kilimanjaro is normally clearly seen from here and the sheer cliffs of the crater fall dramatically 1000 feet or more. We return back and after some brunch at Saddle Hut, we continue down to Miriakamba hut for dinner.

Day 4 – Momella Gate

The final section takes up to 3 hours to return to our vehicles where we say farewell to our crew and have time for a short picnic lunch and game drive before returning to Moshi for a well-deserved shower!

Option: Mount Meru 3 days

Day 1 and 2: as mentioned above.

Day 3: instead of having a night at Miriakamba again you descend all the way from Saddle Hut to Momella Gate and drive back to Moshi or Arusha the same day (no game drive possible).

A day trip to Marangu waterfalls and the heart of Chagga culture.
You will start from Moshi and drive to Marangu for an hour and a half. Here you will visit the Chagga caves. They have been used during the war between the Chagga and Maasai people. Your local guide will tell you more stories about Chagga people, the tribe that lives around Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Next you will get to visit the Chagga museum, where you will get to know more about their history andculture tour

culture, you can see their traditional houses, type of weapons they were used during the war, and their agricultural achievements.
As our last activity of the day you will drive for approx. 15 minutes to a waterfall, which we can only reach by walking a small trail for about 20 minutes. Here you can enjoy the lush green of Kilimanjaro, take amazing pictures and relax for a while.

On our way back we will stop by at Marangu hotel for lunch, after which we will drive back to Moshi.

Materuni Waterfalls

A day trip to Materuni Waterfalls

You will drive to the slopes of Kilimanjaro, up to Materuni village. From there you will hike for about 30 minutes and pass by the local coffee farmers where you will get a chance to hear how local farmers grow coffee and process it till it’s sold. Also you will get time to prepare your own coffee and drink and take some home with you. This will take about an hour.

After this you will walk for 45 minutes to the waterfall, passing villages of the Chagga, which is a native tribe that lives on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Near the waterfall you will have lunch and a possibility to rest and enjoy the nature around.

What to see: A variety of exotic plants and trees, coffee and banana trees, different fruits and animals, especially many different birds.

Bring sun cream, sun glasses and proper shoes.
