Day 1, Arrive from the airport (transport provided if needed).
Check with bikes sizes and meet the bike guides for a briefing about the trip one day before you start.
Day 2, After breakfast a van will transfer you to Kidia. On your route today you will see “Old Moshi Town”, an 18th century church built by the Germans, the Kidia Waterfall (the highest waterfall in Kilimanjaro National Park), local coffee and banana plantations, and the town of Marangu, known for being the gateway to the rooftop of Africa. Destination: Lake Chala tented lodge. Total Km 57 km.
Day 3. The ride today will take you close to the border of Tanzania and Kenya through farmland with spectacular views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and the Pare Mountains (if it’s not cloudy). Your route will begin with 3.5 km of uphill with some variation of rolling hills followed by a steep incline to a mountaintop with a beautiful view of Kenya. Destination: Snow Cap Campsite hotel. Total Km 61 km
Day 4. We will be on the Northern side of Mount Kilimanjaro where we will bike for 20 km. Today we will get to see Kili on our back side while we are biking. You will cycle through forest, jungle, and plantations with the possibility of animal sightings. You will also pass through the territory of the Massai. The Massai are Tanzania’s tribal people who are still living in authentic fashion. We will do the transfer to the lunch point at Olmolog village. After lunch we will keep biking for 21 km to the wild life area down to the flat land. Here our ground campsite is set up by the team for overnight. Total Km 41 km.
Day 5. Today Mt. Kilimanjaro will be to the South as you cycle. Lunch will be at the wildlife corridor of the spectacular Amboseli National Park and Kilimanjaro. There is the possibility to see many wild animals species so as lesser kudu, Grants gazelle, warthogs, impala, wildebeest, and giraffe etc. which are permanent residents while others like eland, zebra, buffalo, and elephants are passing there. You might be able to see seasonal elephant routes. Dinner will be an outside barbecue around a campfire plus a sample of Kilimanjaro beers, Destination: , Luxury Tented Camp with hot showers. Total Km 67 km.
Day 6. We cross to the North of Arusha National Park with views of Mt. Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro. We cycle near the wild animals and we will get to see the Massai (African traditional tribe). It will be flat with some small hills, with a lot of dust. Our crew will set up the tents near a village called Longido at a school or a police station.Total Km 35 km.
Day 7 Longido – Kitumbaine mountain. Right after breakfast we go on a good mobile piste through a wide open area with many acacia trees. Just before lunch break we will bike through something denser green, almost like a small forest. We will bass by Maasai villages on the edge of the 2,865 m high Kitumbaine; the last 10 km are quite strenuous. Along the way there is a good chance to see giraffes, dik dik and zebras. Overnight at Kitumbaine. Total Km 41 km.
Day 8 Kitumbaine – Gilai Bomba. Another day that we will drive through Maasai country. You will get a good view of Oldoinyo Lengai, the Kitumbaine mountain and the almost 3,000m high mountain Gilai Gilai. Today we drive in a very dry region with potentially a lot of dust and wind. Again, the last 10 km will be quite exhausting, but at noon we have already reached the goal and in all directions we will look at the great mountains. Total Km 43 km.
Day 9 Gilai Bomba – Oldoinyo Lengai – Engaruka. With the wheels on the car we drive about 20 km through treeless Savanna with thick dusty slopes. You will have a better view of Oldoinyo Lengai, the Maasai “mountain of God.” It is the only active Natrium carbon volcano of the world (2,878 m high). We will bike past the crater “Hole of God” to the ruins of Engaruka. Engaruka is a surprisingly green and fertile place, the river carries water all year round and irrigation channels feed the fields. Engaruka is one of Tanzania’s most important historic sites. About 500 years ago, a farming community of several thousand people developed an ingenious irrigation and cultivation system. For unknown reasons, the farmers left Engaruka around 1700. The ruins give a good impression of specialized highly agricultural economy during this period of African history. Total Km 26 km.
Day 10. Activity at lake Natron. we will have a trekking to the waterfalls and then we will get the chance to visit Lake Natron, where it is highly possible to see many flamingos.
Day 11 Safari Engaruka – Serengeti. At 8.30 we will take off to the Serengeti. Driving will be around 4 hours to the Klensi gate. The Serengeti hosts the largest terrestrial mammal migration in the world and is also renowned for its large lion population and is one of the best places to observe prides in their natural environment.
Approximately 70 larger mammals and some 500 avifauna species are found there. This high diversity in terms of species is a function of diverse habitats ranging from riverine forests, swamps, kopjes, grasslands and woodlands. Wildebeests, gazelles, zebras and buffalo are some of the commonly found large mammals in the region. Destination: Serengeti, accommodation at Lobo
Day 12, We will start from accommodation at 8.00 am after breakfast for a full day game drive in Serengeti. Accommodation tonight will be Seronera
Day 13. We will start early from the campsite at 6.30 am for a sunrise game drive in Central Serengeti and continue after breakfast on our way to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area. Accommodation will beat the chosen luxury lodge at the Ngorongoro.
Day 14. We will start our safari from campsite to Ngorongoro Crater at 7.00 am. What to see: You have a spectacular view over the crater from the crater rim. Ngorongoro Crater is almost 600 m deep and in this massive caldera you will find an amazing variety of animals, alongside the “big five” (elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and rhinoceros). You can find as well wildebeest, hippopotamus, baboon, hyenas, and many types of birds. Here you will go on a game drive for half a day, and drive back in the afternoon to Moshi.
Day 15. Ride to Moshi, last tour and shopping in Moshi. In the late evening depart for your return flight home.
